Mike joined 14 News team in 1970. His first job was as the weatherman for 6 and 10 news, weekend sports anchor and booth announcer.
Mike and his wife Jenny are the parents of four children; Christine, Michael Jr., Billy , and Patrick. They are also grandparents of three adorable grandchildren; Jennifer, Jeffrey and Ella....with two more expected later this year!
Mike now has his own hour long show, Midday with Mike which airs weekdays at 11 a.m.
Mike is our Sports Director and hosts the sports segment on 14 News at 6 and as well as our expanded Friday night show at 10 on high school football and basketball.
During his tenure at 14 News, Mike has received much recognition for sports coverage including several Associated Press Sports awards and News awards. He was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame in March of 2001. He has twice been selected as"Citizen of the Year."
Mike is also a popular emcee for many public events, including the MDA telethon, which he has hosted for 36 years.
He is currently Vice President of the Muscular Dystrophy Association Executive Committee, serves on the boards of the Quarterback Club and the Little Sisters of the Poor. He is a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow and Past-Chairman of the March of Dimes and Past-Chairman of the Mission Partners for St.Mary's Medical Center.
He has served on the on the board of the United Way Campaign of SW Indiana for the past three years. Mike is also an Army veteran who spent 11 and a half months stationed in Vietnam.
