OHIO COUNTY, KY (WFIE) - In Ohio County, Tuesday officials will vote on where a new EMS facility should be built.

It seems the old one has a major problem.

The ambulance service in Ohio County has been operating out of a trailer since they were forced out of their facility by black mold.

Black sheets cover the areas of the old EMS building where the mold has been growing.

The section of the building where the mold has been growing was in the living quarters for crews working 24 hour shifts.

The county's Judge Executive said a new EMS facility needs to be built and needs to be more centrally located to respond to calls in the county quicker.

"The biggest part of your runs are south of Beaver Dam which that would cover Cromwell, Rockport and the Horse Branch area," Ohio County's Judge Executive David Jones said. "I think the facility needs to be closer to Beaver Dam, maybe around the Wal-mart area."

That item will be up for discussion at Tuesday's fiscal court meeting and we'll bring you the vote on that new location when we get it into our newsroom.
