HANCOCK CO, KY (WFIE) - Officials say a fire at a storm debris drop site in Hancock County got out of control Wednesday.

Officials say wind swept across the burning debris pile and spread the fire into to a neighboring field endangering some nearby buildings.

This debris drop site is in Southern Hancock County along KY 1700/Easton Road.  This is north of Fordsville about 2 miles north of the Hancock-Ohio County line.

Officials say the fire has covered about 5 acres, but has almost been extinguished as of 2:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Three fire departments responded.
