OAKLAND CITY, IN (WFIE) - An armed robbery in Oakland City forced schools to go on lockdown Friday morning.

A 14 News media partner, the Princeton Daily Clarion, reported a woman robbed the Shell Mart around 9:30am, and witnesses reported seeing a weapon visible in the waistband of her jeans.

Schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution.

The search continues for the robber, who's described as a white female about 4-feet-9 inches tall, wearing military clothing and with a blue streak in her hair.
