CORYDON, IN (WFIE) - An Evansville man is arrested in Harrison County, Indiana on attempted rape and burglary charges.

Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Deputies were called to an Evansville home Wednesday night.

The caller told deputies she had been sleeping when an intruder put his hands over her mouth and neck and pinned her to the bed.

After a struggle, the intruder left the residence without sexually assaulting the woman.

Deputies said they found evidence at the home that sexual assault was the suspect's intentions.

The victim told deputies the intruder was William James Hall, 28 of Evansville.

Deputies say they got a warrant and began to search for Hall.

Soon after obtaining the warrant, deputies were contacted by Harrison County authorities.

In Corydon, a tow truck driver got a call from Hall stating he had locked his keys in the car and there was a child inside.

When the driver arrived, he discovered no child.  The driver contacted Harrison County deputies who had a warrant for Hall's arrest.

Hall was arrested and is being kept at the Harrison County jail until he can be moved to the Vanderburgh County jail.
