KNOX CO, IN (WFIE) - An Oaktown couple is arrested after Indiana State Police say they found a meth lab.
Troopers went to the home on North Old U.S. 41 Wednesday afternoon, where they say they could smell the strong odor commonly associated with meth manufacturing.
They say two cars were parked outside, but no one would answer the door.
Because of the strong odor, troopers say they forced their way inside. They say because the chemical smell and visible fumes were so strong, they went back outside and called the fire department and ISP Clandestine Lab Team.
After getting a search warrant, troopers say they found an active meth lab, but no one inside.
While crews were dismantling the lab, troopers say a truck drove up, but then tried to turn around.
Troopers say they stopped the truck and found that the two people inside were the owners of the home.
Christopher Bement and Tracy Kennedy were arrested for meth manufacturing and possession and taken to jail.
Troopers say about three grams of meth was found on Bement when he was being processed.
