(NBC) - More and more Americans are turning to their backside when it comes to cosmetic surgery.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, buttock rejuvenation is becoming increasingly popular, especially for people who have recently lost a lot of weight.

In fact, buttock lifts are up a whopping 162-percent since the year 2000, with 3,500 performed in 2008 alone, and in that same year, doctors gave 853 patients buttock implants.

Plastic surgery procedures have not taken a major hit in this down economy, so we know this isn't the end of this story.
