EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - We will be pre-empting NBC's "The Jay Leno Show" this Friday, November 27 from 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. to televise a locally produced special titled "Touchdown Live: Championship Edition."
"Touchdown Live: Championship Edition" will highlight the Reitz Panthers and Memorial Tigers as they prepare for Saturday's Class 4A and 3A Indiana State Football Championship Games at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Reitz beat the state's top ranked team, Indianapolis Cathedral, 31-10 Friday night at the Reitz Bowl.
The Panthers will play Lowell for the state championship.
Memorial took on Bishop Chatard Saturday night in Indianapolis.
The final score is 37 to 21, Memorial.
Memorial will now go on to play West Lafayette.
This is the first time two Evansville schools have played for a championship in the same year.
WFIE Sports Director Mike Blake, along with sports reporters Joe Danneman and Bo McFall, will recap both team's season and preview the Saturday championship contests.
