Evansville Man Arrested On German Child Porn Tip

UPDATE:A tip from authorities in Germany has led to the arrest of an Evansville man for sending child pornography over the Internet. Robert Jason Racine, 21-years-old, was charged Saturday with four counts of child exploitation and possession of child pornography.

Indiana State Police Sergeant Todd Ringle says authorities in Colburg, Germany, searched the home of a German man 18 months ago. An analysis of the man's computer revealed he had exchanged child pornography with an Evansville resident. The Indiana State Police Crimes Against Children Unit was able to connect Racine to the transfer. Investigators concluded that Racine had sent four images to Germany over the Internet.

Ringle says state police regularly receive child pornography tips from other states, but he believes this may be the first from another country.

Previously: An Evansville man is in jail Saturday, for allegedly sending several pornographic pictures over the internet.  The investigation began in 2003 when German police searched the computer of a man suspected of distributing child pornography via the internet.

In the search, the German police found that the suspect exchanged child pornography with an Evansville resident.

After further investigation, Indiana State Police and Immigration and Customs Enforcement interviewed 21-year old Robert Racine. The officers inspected one of Racine's computers and found an image of child pornography.

Two computers were removed from Racine's home and searched. Several images of child pornography were found, and Racine allegedly transmitted four child pornographic images to Germany via the internet.

Saturday, Jason Racine was charged with four counts of child exploitation and one count of possession of child pornography.
