Fishing License Check Leads To Drug Arrests

New Media Producer: Kerry Corum

A water patrol on Pigeon Creek leads to something...fishy. Indiana Conservation Officers were doing a fishing license check Sunday morning, and end up arresting a pair of boaters for drug possession.

Officers Gordon Wood and Eric Stamps approached a fishing boat just upstream from Maryland Street, on Pigeon Ceek. According to their report, one of the boaters threw a syringe, another tried to hide a small container inside a tackle box. Michael Wood, 23, and 25-year-old Charles Bridge were arrested and charged with meth and marijuana possession.

A third person was arrested for fishing without a license.
