Lights, camera action: New Harmony is film site

Updated:

It's not a blockbuster, but New Harmony will be the site of an educational movie being filmed by Ball State the next couple of weeks.

The movie is about the 19th century utopian community that was located there. The movie will be filmed in New Harmony and other locations throughout the state.

Ball State students and Posey County residents will serve as re-enactors for some scenes.

The movie's target audience is elementary students and the movie will be incorporated into their study of Indiana history. Funding for the production is through the Ohio River Teaching American History Project, given by the U.S. Department of Education.
